The status of MRTV correspondents will be resolved
The status of correspondents in the public service is a problem that fellow journalists from regional centers in the country have been facing for years. That is why, on the initiative of AJM, and with the support of MRTV, a meeting was held attended by the fourteen correspondents, Marina Todorovska, a representative from MRTV, Mladen Chadikovski and Dragan Sekulovski from the executive office of AJM.
In the past period, the Association, together with the public service, actively worked on this problem, which resulted in positive changes, that is, an announcement to resolve the status in the first half of 2023.
Chadikovski emphasized the urgency of the situation with the problem and said:
“We are seriously working on speeding up the process of hiring regional correspondents. We, together with MRTV, sent a request to the Ministry of Finance, so we will not stop until this problem is solved. AJM will certainly help in the administration of the process and will continue to exert public pressure on the institutions in order to obtain a quick solution to the problem.”
Kostovska responded with a promise to finally resolve the status and stated: “The actual situation requires us to fulfill three segments, and that is to get the consent of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Information Society and Administration as well as the Commission for Political System. The idea is to hire all the correspondents who are on the list of MRTV in 2023. I believe that with the support of AJM and continuation of joint cooperation, we will be able to realize all this”.
Regarding the freelance contracts, it was said that they will be extended until the public service employment contract is obtained.
