The signatories of the Memorandum of Cooperation, within their primary activity and goals, will act jointly for the benefit of further promotion of the work of journalists, media, publishers, marketing agencies, as well as improving the standards for digital advertising on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia. Through joint activities, the three associations among other will strive for continuous promotion and advancement of ethical standards as well as initiatives for capacity building of its members.
According to the President of the Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) Mladen Cadikovski, this joint initiative “will promote the advancement and development of the Registry of professional online media and will further strengthen media self-regulation as mechanism for promoting media that respect professional and ethical standards in reporting.“
The President of the Managing Board of the Council for Media Ethics in Macedonia (CMEM), Katerina Sinadinovska, stressed the importance of the joint initiative between CMEM, AJM and the Chamber of Commerce, as well as the possibility, within the internal coordination in IAB, to encourage access of individual informative online media to the Register of Professional Online Media. “In the future, AJM and CMEM will work on specific, joint activities for members, in order to promote ethical standards, joint training, promotion of ethical rules for reporting, etc.,” said Sinadinovska. The President of the Interactive Advertising Bureau IAB Macedonia (IAB) Sashka Nikolova announced that “in the future will be promoted the further cooperation in order to improve digital publishing, promotion of ethical standards, as well as the development of the digital market and advertising in Macedonia.”
