Meeting with the journalists from the Ohrid-Struga regional center at AJM

Within the current activities that the Association of Journalists of Macedonia realizes throughout the year, a working meeting was held with the members of AJM from the regional center in Ohrid, in which journalists and correspondents from local and national media participated.
The goal was to cover the key segments and daily challenges journalists and media workers face in the Ohrid-Struga region.
The training academy for journalists, T-AJM, was announced before the attendees. It also discussed the project activities with UNDP through which some of the journalists and media workers from the local media will be involved in processing topics about air pollution and how to deal with them, but also to strengthen the capacities of these media to deal with disinformation and gender-based disinformation.
They also discussed the regular calls for awards organized by AJM and the fact that there is a trend of increasing applications of journalists from local media. During the meeting, Goran Momirovski, the regional coordinator from Ohrid, shared the information regarding the increase in the number of new benefits for AJM members, which include transportation and medical services, with a plan to increase the benefits in all six regional centers of AJM by the end of the year, on the territory of Macedonia.
Mladen Chadikovski, the president of AJM, also said:
“Our professional obligation and long-term goal are to continue to promote journalistic standards and integrity, regardless of social developments. Through a constructive approach and joint proposals, we will work together to solve the problems faced by our colleagues from the local media” – said Chadikovski.
By the end of the year, there will be five more meetings with members from the regional centers of AJM, from the regions of Bitola, Shtip, Ohrid, Strumica, Tetovo, and Kumanovo. One of the goals is to increase the members’ benefits at the local level from the membership in AJM, but also to discuss the Association’s current activities.
