JASNO.MK loudly in the battle against misinformation

The Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) today presented the digital platform JASNO.MK.
The purpose of this platform is for quality journalists to create stories that will bring change and most importantly present information to citizens who will hopefully know where to get accurate and verified information in the future. Gender discrimination is a significant component in this phase of the site. Local communities suffer from a range of misinformation affecting the gender gap.

Jasno.mk will emphasize these cases, but at the same time it will serve to destroy harmful stereotypes and prejudices created through false or wrong information. Through the resources it offers, it equips both citizens and journalists to recognize misinformation, especially in the area of gender disinformation.
In front of the present guests, the President of AJM Mladen Chadikovski made his address, who pointed out that journalists are the guardians of democracy, who are entrusted with the responsibility of providing the citizens with reliable information.

“With this platform, we want to establish a new level of recognition of misinformation, of reading new quality media products. JASNO.MK aims to contribute to the process of raising awareness and strengthening the capacities of local communities, who in this way would be more prepared to recognize disinformation and fight this phenomenon, especially in the area of gender-based disinformation. emphasized Chadikovski.

The permanent representative of the UNDP in the country, Armen Grigoryan, emphasized that “Jasno.mk is not just another media outlet; it’s a dedicated small-town news platform designed to bring out the authentic voices and stories that often go unnoticed. In the era of information overload, we recognized the need for a platform that advocates for quality local content while also fighting misinformation,” said Grigoryan.
The digital platform JASNO.MK is available in Macedonian and Albanian.
This initiative is made possible through the joint efforts of the Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The project is entitled “Strengthening the capacities of local communities to deal with gender-based misinformation and disinformation”.
