Easier access for journalists to the services of the Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia
The Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) and the Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation establishing a partnership aimed at improving access to legal information and promoting information in the public interest.
Through this cooperation, AJM members will receive free access to all relevant laws, bylaws and legal documents through the mobile application of the Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia – providing them with constant and easy access, regardless of time and place. The initiative aims to increase legal transparency and contribute to higher quality and professionalism in journalistic reporting.
“Journalists have the right and obligation to inform citizens accurately, timely and with integrity. This memorandum represents a significant step in that direction, as access to accurate and verified legal information and consolidated legal texts is essential for well-informed citizens,” said Mladen Čadikovski, President of AJM.
The PE Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia emphasizes that this cooperation is an example of a functional partnership between institutions and the media community, aimed at increasing transparency and promoting democratic processes in society.
“This Memorandum is a concrete step to support the media in their key role – to inform, analyze and raise issues of public interest. We believe that with this tool, journalists will have an even more secure basis for their work,” said Vladimir Kronevski, Director of the PE Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia.
This initiative arose from the requests of journalists, which were submitted to the Association of Journalists of Macedonia. The AJM initiated these proposals before the competent institutions, whereby the issue of easier access to the services of the PE Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia was communicated to the Government, and then officially approved at a government session.
The Association of Journalists of Macedonia once again confirms its commitment to creating better working conditions for journalists and strengthening their role in serving the public interest.
