Certificates awarded for completed training for investigative journalism

The Association of Journalists of Macedonia in cooperation with the US Embassy in Macedonia gave certificates for successfully completed training for investigative journalism, which was designed for young journalists from Macedonia. The training, which lasted nine months was on topic: “Improving research techniques and creative presentation”.
The young journalists were trained by the experienced journalists Zoran Dimitrovski and Zoran Ricliev, and the group also had the opportunity to hear the experiences and advises of the guests at the training, which were mostly long-time journalists with extensive experience in investigative journalism.
President of AJM, Nasser Selmani thanked the US Embassy, which has always supported the AJM in the fight for freedom of speech and media. He noted that this type of training is of great importance for young journalists and researchers. According to Selmani, in journalism, it is very important that you know how to get to the news. “It is often necessary to investigate and analyze a lot of data in order to get to the important news. These trainings were designed to teach you exactly these two things. To learn to recognize the news, and then publish it in a way that is understandable to the general public,” he said.
