CALL FOR PARTICIPATION IN SAFETY CAMP FOR YOUNG JOURNALISTS

The Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM), in co-operation with the OSCE Mission to Skopje, announces a “Call for applications for participation in the Safety Camp for Young Journalists,” which will be held from 11 to 15 July 2023 in Ohrid.
The camp is primarily intended for young journalists (up to 35 years old) who report from the field on a daily basis or contact with the public online or offline on a regular basis as part of their newsroom duties. We particularly encourage young journalists based outside of Skopje to apply.
The camp will be held on the shores of Lake Ohrid and will be realized through a balanced programme with informative, educational, and entertaining content.
This event aims to socialize and exchange experiences and skills to contribute to capacity building and improve the overall safety of journalists by promoting better collaboration through peer-to-peer discourse, local experience sharing, and enhanced understanding of the gender dimensions of safety. Key emphasis will be given to physical and digital safety for journalists, professional skills and knowledge of journalistic ethics, and the role of journalists in defending human rights using in-depth journalism techniques, novel approaches, and digital multimedia tools, including those developed by the Mission.
Within the activities provided during the working part of the summer camp, in addition to educational presentations led by experienced trainers, interactive workshops, and group work through informal meetings and mutual friendships, practical experiences will be exchanged between lecturers and participants.
All those interested in applying for the summer camp should submit:
- Curriculum vitae in electronic form (Word, pdf),
