Call for Participants: Young Journalists’ Summer Camp 2024 in Ohrid

Are you a young journalist under 35? Do you want to gain skills through socializing and succeed as a journalist in the modern media environment? Are you looking for opportunities to network in the media field?

If so, we invite you to join us for a transformative experience at the Young Journalists’ Summer Camp, from July 23 to 27, 2024, at the Metropol Hotel in Ohrid.

This five-day camp, organized in partnership with the Association of Journalists (AJM), is designed to enhance your knowledge of digital security and self-protection skills. Given the current threats to journalist’s safety in North Macedonia, this camp offers vital training in both online and offline protection.

Why attend?

• Skill Development: Gain insights into the challenges posed by Artificial Intelligence in the digital information landscape and enhance your safety skills.
• Networking: Engage in peer-to-peer discussions and share local experiences with fellow journalists.
• Gender-Specific Training: Participate in sessions tailored to address the unique digital safety challenges faced by female journalists.
• Collaboration: Work alongside law enforcement agencies to understand their role in ensuring journalists’ safety.

2. A short text (no more than 300 characters) explaining what motivates you to participate in this summer camp.

All participants’ costs, including local transport, accommodation, and food, will be covered. We especially encourage applications from young journalists who are not based in Skopje.
