European Center for Freedom of the press and media based in Leipzig, Germany, announced a call for applications for the program “Journalists in Residence” for 2017. To the program journalists from member states and candidate countries in the European Union could apply, which are under pressure because of their journalistic work. The program aims journalists under pressure to temporarily leave the unsafe environment and oppression and to recover from anxiety.
Journalists in danger, which will be included in the program, 12 months would be able to live outside of their own country and the European Centre for the freedom of the press and media will provide a safe home, school fees and other forms of support, and the opportunity to work in the headquarters of the organization.
