AJM: Condemnation for unprofessional attitude by a civil servant towards a TV21 journalist

The Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) condemns the attitude of a civil servant towards the journalist Afrim Jonuzi from TV21 during today’s press conference in a Skopje primary school.
Namely, at today’s press conference, organized by the Minister of Education and Science and the Mayor of the Municipality of Chair with the Director of the primary school “Kongresi I Manastirit” in the municipality of Chair in Skopje, journalist Afrim Jonuzi from TV21 was prevented from performing his professional tasks to record inserts by the person Sherijat Shaqiri who, according to the statements of his colleagues, is employed as a junior associate for operational support of the strategic planning process in the Ministry of Education and Science.
AJM contacted the journalist of TV 21 Afrim Jonuzi and he told us by phone: “After the press conference, I wanted to record inserts with the camera that will be used to make a news report and then the person Sherijat Shaqiri stopped me in my work, “he told me that I am not allowed to record, who I was to record, etc.,” said Jonuzi.
AJM requests from the Ministry of Education and Science to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the person Shaqiri and publicly to distance from the actions against the media workers of their employee.
