AJM: Complaint to the Chamber of Private Security for obstructing the work of media teams

During today’s event organized by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, which took place within the OHIS factory in Skopje, AJM received a report on an incident in which the camera operators were hindered in their intention to professionally cover this event for which they had previously had a proper invitation.
It is about restricting their movement around the factory by a person employed in the private security agency NIKOB, which made their access to the event difficult.
Following the reactions of our fellow camera operators and journalists about this incident, AJM will submit a complaint to the Chamber of Private Security of the Republic of North Macedonia in order to clear up this incident for the security agency NIKOB.
It is necessary to know that the members of the private security agencies must not, in no case restrict the work of the camera operators and the journalists who report because in that way the right to inform the citizens is denied.
We point out that it is not only the responsibility of the private agencies for such interference in the work of journalistic teams but also the organizer, i.e., the Ministry of Environment, which in the future must provide conditions for free work of camera operators and journalists.
