On the initiative of the Section of Cameramen at AJM, the asset of MRT, on November 16th, a constructive meeting was held where the current issues and challenges of the public service cameramen were discussed.
The president of AJM, Mladen Chadikovski, addressed the audience, who greeted the attendees and shared his satisfaction with the solidarity and successful cooperation with the cameramen from MRTV and that AJM is available to overcome daily challenges.
At the meeting, the representative of the management board of AJM, cameraman Trajce Ilievski, the coordinator of the section of cameramen at AJM, Risto Mishev, and the cameraman from MRTV, Sladjan Milosevski, had their addresses.
In addition to the current activities of the cameramen’s section at AJM, the topics of conversation were also the daily challenges faced by fellow cameramen from the public service, especially when working in the field. The demand for quality recordings and video materials has increased, and on the other hand, outdated technical equipment in the public service is a current challenge. The videographers have offered a series of proposals to the public service management for improving the technique in MRTV. It was also pointed out that when purchasing new equipment, it is necessary to consult the videographers for it to correspond to the real needs of the public service. “We never run away and will not run away from work, but we want improvement of our working conditions as well as an appreciation of our profession,” the speakers emphasized.
The executive director of AJM Dragan Sekulovski emphasized that this kind of functional example of solidarity association in the Cameramen’s Section at AJM is a positive practice that other journalist associations from the Western Balkans have also taken up. It was stated that in the next period, the concrete requests will be determined by the public service cameramen and submitted to the management of MRTV.
