AJM and CMEM: Strict observance of the Code in reporting on Ukraine

The Association of Journalists of Macedonia and the Council for Media Ethics, after the start of military actions in Ukraine, call on the media to inform with maximum responsibility and professionalism, without contributing to the spread of speculation and untruths in the public.
We expect the media strictly to adhere to the Code of Journalists, objectivity and maximum verification of sources, and the information placed on social networks to be used with special care.
We remind you that in no case the media should be abused to spread radical and inflammatory language, military triumphalism and hate speech.
We recommend the editors to be especially careful about the publication of photographs and recordings of injured or killed people, given that this is sensitive material with disturbing content, which can reach vulnerable categories of citizens and minors.
We call on the citizens who will notice unprofessional journalistic reporting to react immediately to SMEM by submitting a complaint against the media at the following link: https://complaints.semm.mk/
